MISSISSAUGA, Ontario (20 December 2010) - Four new showrooms will open in the Source of Furniture & Accessories (SOFA), the permanent showroom annex of the International Centre in time for the upcoming Canadian Home Furnishings Market. Among them are Artisan House, Shermag, the new Liinz division of Shermag, and, O-Palier.

Based in Wilton, Connecticut, Artisan House designs and produces metal decorative accessories, artwork and table top. In their first Canadian showroom, they will show a variety of metal sculptures from small representational pieces to large scale artwork.

"Their vibrant and versatile designs are made from handcrafted rich metals, hand finished with intriguing surface treatments, paints and patinas," SOFA said in a statement. "Artisan House wall sculptures elevate the look of any room or outdoor setting thanks to a comprehensive array of designs showcasing multi-coloured, cool and warm tones; nature-themed pieces with earthly inspirations; and sculptures reminiscent of activities that relax, excite or inspire. Tabletop and freestanding floor pieces also make a dynamic statement in the home or out-of-doors."

Full-line furniture producer Shermag will return to the International Centre after a two-year absence, during which the company was acquired by the Bermex Group. The new showroom will be in Suite 206 and will feature the company's line of contemporary bedroom, youth bedroom, dining room and glider rockers.

Also moving into a new permanent showroom will be Shermag's new Liinz leather upholstery division. It will be located in Space 222.

Moving into Suite 225 will be furniture designer and distributor O-Palier.

Based in Williamsburg, Ontario, SOFA management said O-Palier has "a strong belief in great quality (and) believes it is all about product, process and perseverance."

"Taken from the old French "Haut Palier" which means ‘a higher level', O-Palier is dedicated to taking contemporary home furnishings one step above by creating furniture with fresh contemporary designs and innovative quality features," SOFA said.

TCHFM will open for a four-day run at the International Centre on 15 January.
